The Task Analysis Book

My new Task Analysis book is finished and available on my webstore www.mosscanyon.com.

The book contains 25 daily living tasks broken down into individual steps to assist staff in writing client Service Plan Objectives.

For example, you can't write an Objective to "Cross the Street." That's a long range goal. Why can't the client cross the street now? Which step or steps is he/she missing? For that matter, what steps are involved in "Crossing the Street"?

I broke crossing the street into 7 individual steps, and included a description of what I think goes into each step. Riding the Public Transit Bus is broken down into 25 individual steps. Using a Cell Phone is 9 steps. Dressing Appropriately has 6 steps, and so on.

The complete list includes:

Crossing the Street
Riding the Public Transit Bus
Identifying Strangers
Using a Cell Phone
Eating in a Fast Food Restaurant
Using  a Public Restroom
Making a Sandwich
Hand Washing the Dishes
Making Healthy Eating Choices
Washing Your Hands
Brushing Your Teeth
Dressing Appropriately
Cleaning Your Room
Taking Your Own Medications
Looking Up Something on a Computer
Telling Time
Setting Priorities
Telling Others What You Want/Don't Want
Relieving Stress
Greeting Other People
Comparison Shopping
Completing a Purchase
Getting a Soda From a Vending Machine
Following Work Rules.

I have given you a starting point. Are each of these tasks analyzed completely? Maybe. It depends on the client with whom you are working.

I would be happy so send you a sample or 2 if you just email me.
